How the Zodiac Signs Are When They’re Not Feeling Well

In a crisis an Aries will come out fighting, focused on the one outcome they want. If they’re ill, they’ll talk about fighting their illness, or tackling it, or beating it. They will turn up on time, or early; they won’t want you to hold them back from ‘getting better fast’ and will want you to give them clear, sensible, do-able instructions.

A Taurus will go into a slump and want help with the ‘now’. They’re not interested in tomorrow, or next week; they want their symptoms to ‘be gone’ and you will have to work like a genie to remove their major symptom. If you don’t manage to get rid of the worst symptom, like pain or sleeplessness, they’ll be out of the door.

A Gemini will want to talk about everything, except what is truly bothering them. With persistent questioning you might get them to confess, but then you’ll lose them because they think they’ve told you too much. It’s best to talk about the weather and the funny-thing-they-saw-yesterday and keep the conversation flowing. They will start to improve just by being allowed to talk about ‘stuff’…and eventually they’ll get bored with wanting to get better, as they’ve improved, and you won’t see them again.

A Cancer will want to weep and weep and weep as if they’ll never stop the tears, and provided you’ve got a good, big box of tissues, things will be OK. Being gentle and listening carefully and asking them, ‘How did that make you feel?’ will help them and they’ll soon start to improve. If they get better, they’ll then send all their friends and family to you, and eventually you’ll become part of their extended family, which is really sweet.

A Leo will want your undivided attention. They will text or email or phone to give you updates and will want you to congratulate them on their recovery and make them feel as if you do genuinely care about their recovery (which you do because an ill Leo is a really sad experience). They will feel better when you can help them feel surrounded by the love they so easily give to others. If you remind them of the fact that love goes round, and they are part of that sunny experience, they’ll soon improve.

A Libra will mostly be concerned with relationships. Their partner, or lover, or close person. And how their unwellness will have affected that. They will be upset if they don’t feel attractive to them any more and may accuse their partner of having changed or got fat, or not taking as much care and attention about their appearance. They will also be worrying about ‘having to make a choice’ about something, a terrible dilemma for a Libra. Too many instructions or choices won’t work, so you’ll have to be firm and suggest just one solution, just one remedy – enough to gently nudge them back to health.

A Scorpio will not tell you what’s really wrong. Not now, not tomorrow, not the next day. They will tell you what’s wrong with everyone else, and who’s upsetting them, or getting in their way, or driving them mad. And if, after a few weeks of treatment, they feel they can trust you with their inner fears (which will be so scary you’ll be on the edge of your seat listening), they’ll blurt them out in a few long sentences and you’ll sit there thinking, ‘Wow! No wonder they’re feeling so bad!’ After this confession they’ll come a few more times, and then they’ll be better, but you’ll be left with a residue of weird inner feelings which you’ll have to exorcise with incense or white sage.

A Sagittarius has all the answers. They’re not ill, and it’s their mother, wife, husband, girlfriend, partner, brother, uncle or aunt that said they should come and see you. They know exactly what’s wrong and they’ll not take their tablets, and it’s just when you think you’ll never see them again, or they’ll never get better, that the phone will ring and they’ll want an appointment ‘NOW’ because they’ve decided their symptoms, which they haven’t told you about just yet, are getting to them and they want them sorted immediately. As you’ve been watching all this unfold over the last few weeks, you know that just them admitting they’re not well is part of the healing process, and they’ll soon recover.

A Capricorn will prove a challenge to your healing abilities. They won’t tell you how they feel because they’ll be talking in negatives. They’ll say, ‘I don’t have a problem with my digestion’ which means they have, or ‘I’ve never had a problem with my back’ which also means they have. And you’ll have to decipher everything backwards, and go back in time to somewhere a long, long time ago, possibly into a past life, or something to do with an ancestor (we call this miasmatic prescribing in Homeopathy = healing the ancestors)…and slowly, slowly they’ll start to recover. They can’t be rushed. You can’t hurry a Murray…

An Aquarius will have some bizarre ideas. Whatever they’re suffering from is something to do with something that they can’t describe. It might have some weird name or come from some other dimension…and provided you allow them to feel free to visit as and when they feel unwell, and don’t give them too many instructions or orders, and don’t add to their already strange thinking by asking them to talk about their dreams (you’ll be there all day if you do that!), an unusual, strange remedy will help them recover their strength to get better on their own.

A Pisces might – or might not – get better. There is no way of knowing. You will have to have strong boundaries in place or they’ll phone you on Sundays or while you’re on holiday. They’ll be late for appointments, or forget completely, or get confused and think you’re an acupuncturist when it clearly says on all your literature and on your website that you’re a Homeopath. As long as you can help them sleep, they’ll get better. They won’t tell you they’re better, and they might not even know they are, but if they start to arrive on time, and remember to take the tablets, and they remember your name, you know that they’ve got better.

Now Virgos are very good Homeopathy patients as they can give us in great detail all the symptoms we need to make a perfect prescription.

So, what I’m saying is this: not all Virgos are anxious, just the same as not all Capricorns are unhappy or all Pisces are wobbly messes (just most of them, not all!), but when they are anxious you will need nerves of steel to be able to help them, and this book will instruct you in how to do that easily.

And here lies the root of Virgo the sign: the desire for perfection…which we will learn about in more detail in the following pages.

Bibliomancy

I have had such fun writing a new book on divination for Dodona. I have tried various forms of divination, some weirder than others but one I really enjoyed was bibliomancy. Divination is the art of prediction or sensing things by paranormal means and includes well known methods such as the Tarot, Runes and Palmistry. Yet some methods of divination are bit cyclical or even fashionable/ unfashionable such as egg readings and tea leaf reading. We have lost a lot of them in time and through being too caught up in certain ones we like or connect with.

My time doing bibliomancy for myself as research was very, very enlightening. Bibliomancy is the form of divination by using books or phrases from books to give a random answer which can shed light on a question. The tarot is a form of bibliomancy without the cards being bound into a book and when we choose a tarot card to explain something, we can interpret its answer. Bibliomancy is similar using random (or is it?) text or phrases from a book. The main books used in the past have been spiritual or religious books like the Bible or Koran even though ‘fortune telling’ is frowned on or forbidden as being the work of the devil.

I decided to stir things up a little and see if religious texts were any more enlightening than normal books. So I included three spiritual books i.e. the Bible and a book on the Goddess Durga, and a shamanic totem book, and also a favourite novel and 50 Shades of Grey! What happened was amazing. All apart from one gave me rather direct answers. And that one was spiritual. The most uncannily spot on answer to my question came through my favourite novel and also believe it or not, 50 Shades of Grey. So I feel that any book will do, although obviously you will hit more spiritual answers using a spiritual book. I also added one random song on the radio to see if this would work too and it really did! Songs have spoken to me at times and helped me see what was happening in my life.

Six days and six answers, all but one making clear sense and giving me a boost! Why not try bibliomancy yourself? Have a question in your mind and grab a book, close your eyes and insert a pin in between the pages. Just letting a book fall open doesn’t work as it will fall open at the most read page and that might be misleading and /or embarrassing with e.g. a sex novel lol! Let the pin travel to the text with your eyes still closed and then read where it points. You may well be amazed. This works better if you have a distinct question rather than just needing general advice but this can work too.

I loved how bibliomancy worked for me. Try it and be prepared to be surprised at how the universe chooses to talk to you.

Mayday originated in ancient Rome as a way to honor spring fertility rites.

In the Middle Ages the traditions of naming a Queen of May led to colourful processions of pretty girls dancing round a huge phallic maypole, alive with vibrant blooms and lots of streamers! Pretty girls and Maypoles? Brings to mind the roots of pole dancing, don’t you think?

Young and old went “A-Maying” (Getting it on to Marvin Gaye in the woods at night) and then the Beltane babes arrived nine months later!

Beltane is the Fire Festival. Full of passion, inspiration and creation. The word originates from the Celtic God ‘Bel’, meaning ‘bright one’ and the Gaelic word ‘teine’ meaning fire. Together they make ‘Bright Fire’. Traditionally bonfires are lit to honour the Sun and encourage the support of Bel and the Sun’s light to nurture the emerging future harvest and protect the community.

This May is exceptionally powerful what with the solar eclipse in Taurus on 10th, and the lunar eclipse in Sagittarius on 25th. We had a rehearsal with this two weeks ago with the partial eclipse in Scorpio, but now we really are beginning. Eclipses involve the Sun (conscious) and Moon (sub conscious) coming together, heralding awakening – its deep and gradual, and if you want to know more about your process then look at where the eclipse is heralding this in your birth chart.

For instance if you are Taurus or Sagittarius you can see this period is likely to very transformative in how you see yourself. But all of us have Sagittarius or Taurus somewhere in our chart, whether it be home, work or some other area.
The only way to really gain more understanding is as always, with hindsight.

Give sometime to review your journey from now at the next solar eclipse back in Scorpio on November 3rd, if you really wish to get illuminated.

Generally speaking there is a lot of energy all year in Taurus and Scorpio, bringing to light deep processes of transformation in order to progress in the world. There is A LOT going on behind the scenes astrologically, and if you feel tired, vulnerable, shaky, do not worry, be gentle with yourself, know its all being taken care of, its all in the mix….

Looking closer still Mercury joins the Sun, Mars and Venus in Taurus also on Mayday. Beautiful, sensual passionate words may flow until we get a more logical feel when it moves into Gemini on 21st.

On the 5th this energy is likely to be enhanced by a beautiful flowing energy when Mars trines Pluto, deep, powerful, transformational, but in a grounded sense.

May 7th-8th Mars in Taurus conjuncts Chiron in Pisces, similar to the bull mistaking the blood of Jesus for a red flag.

Keep this in mind and don’t enter any China shops!

Venus enters Gemini on 9th heralding a social (but gossipy) time, watch your tongue for the next month! Great for insightful flashes, but can be a bit fickle, wait to see what lasts. This steps up when Venus squares Uranus in Pisces, when sudden judgments could cause confusion and upsets in close partnerships, if this happens look past the happening into the spiritual lesson, with Uranus in Pisces it should be a big one!

Again May 18th we have a similar energy with a Mercury, Neptune square, if you are confused, unsure of what is going on, best to maybe hold your tongue for a bit, rather than bring others into the confusion, we do also have some lovely conjunctions and sextiles that day, involving Venus, Pluto and Uranus, so perhaps any confusion may only last the day and the night may provide us the right circumstances and calmness.

The Sun enters Gemini on 20th – heralding the beginning of a very sociable month ahead, great for gaining knowledge and ideas. But we also have a Uranus/Pluto square that day, clash of the titans! This could last a while as we have Mercury in Gemini squaring Chiron in Pisces for 21st and 22nd, watch those words! Sticks and stones will break my bones, and words will always hurt me.

Over the lunar eclipse on 25th, things start to calm down. We are not so fraught, and bridges are re-built, bigger and stronger than before, as Venus visits Mercury and Jupiter from 24th -27th. This is the time when if you speak from the heart your words will not only heal wounds, but open hearts and minds as well. On 28th Mercury enters Cancer, compounding this caring communication further, but watch for an attachments. With Mars ending the month in Gemini, all that talk may well be turning into some action!

It seems we are all about to pop after a heck of a lot of repression that has been erupting at times since last November, but now it feels like its all about to really rock.  It feels like we have been living with the threat of a volcanic eruption in and around us for quite a few months now, and now with the actual final eruption there is a sense of relief. A sense that living with the threat has become much worse than the actual eruption.

A place of getting past caring can be a very empowering place indeed. Why do you think monks practiced lying on beds of nails? Through intense suffering we can finally find release, transcend samsara and find ourselves in nirvana…

I think this is why this time of year is so apt like that. Having the movement of the planets from Pisces to Aries charts that very happening, going from victimhood and martyrdom  working through the karma, developing spiritually and finally knowing who we are and what we must to to break out of co-dependency and stand firm in our own skins.

When I did the  youtube reading  for this month the first two weeks of April felt like the final eruptions, and the third week feels like Nirvana!  This could be due to the fact that the full moon in Libra on 27th March felt very powerful in illuminating the places where we may be out of balance in our relationship dynamics, and that we need the two weeks in between that and the new moon in Aries to really look and see what we need to do to go forward in a much healthier fashion.

Therefore the first two weeks feel very powerful for change, particularly in our relationships, and its likely to be a bit like spaghetti junction as we may feel we are going round in circles until we finally arrive. That arrival seems to be heralded by the new moon in Aries on 10th, but still it may take a few days to feel it. Pluto stations in Capricorn in 12th – so the lord of transformation takes a break, maybe then we start to feel the change of gear.

Communication gets loud and active from 14th when Mercury enters Aries, but thankfully with the Sun, Mars and Venus all entering Taurus in the third week it should begin to feel a lot more grounded and constructive, perhaps even nurturing! This is the time to mend any bridges that may have got burnt in the first two weeks – but make sure you use new designs and materials and you aren’t tempted to go back to the old ways that will no longer sustain.

In the fourth week we have the years first eclipse. In Scorpio. There has been a lot of deep karmic processes going on in Scorpio – a lot of transformation on a very, very deep level. With this eclipse we really start to see the beginning of that very deep change start to take hold.

A powerful month. Work with it wisely and you should come out a lot more realised, and much happier!!!!

Divining rods are used for dowsing. Dowsing (also known as divining) is an ancient form of divination, and helpful in finding centres of energy. In the past, dowsing was seen as an agency of the devil, particularly by the Christian Church, though it is now generally viewed as being a scientific pursuit. Dowsing was and still is used to find water and minerals. Nowadays people use dowsing to also track ley lines and centres of energy at sacred sites, stone circles, and for some, even energy in their own homes. Others use dowsing as ways of finding lost objects, which works best if that object is linked to another one such as an earring. One earring can be held in the hand while the dowser dowses or divines a map or plan for the other. For this a pendulum is used.

Making Dowsing/Divining Rods

Some people think dowsing is the gift of a few. However, with enough practice and patience, anyone can learn to dowse. You can buy dowsing rods or make your own. The first dowsing rods I used were homemade and belonged to a friend and as soon as I picked them up I had a reaction which startled us both.

To make a set you will need a wire coat hanger and wire cutters. Cut rods from two coat hangers and bend them into an L shape. I would suggest a length between twelve and sixteen inches for the longer part, and the shorter part between four and six inches.

You then place the shorter lengths (the handles), into empty plastic pen cases so they can freely swing. The bought ones I have are on the shorter side, but if you make your own you can choose the longer length.

You can use your dowsing rods to detect energy centres and lines near you. Hold the rods loosely in your fists. You should be
relaxed and your arms and the arms of the rods held out horizontally and parallel to the ground. Your elbows should be kept close to your body. Move forward slowly and keep relaxed. You will find that shortly the rods will begin to move around, without you doing anything to cause it. When they find an energy centre, they will cross over suddenly or open out into a V shape.

Experiment by crisscrossing your paths, and be aware that your rods may be detecting water or power lines under the ground. I use the rods in places where I see energy, mists, or feel any strange vibes as well as on ley lines or at sacred sites. Using the rods can help you develop your psychic awareness as you can test any strange vibes you may come across.

Dowsing with a Pendulum

A pendulum hangs on the end of a chain or thread. You can buy a pendulum and there are many on offer, with some made of metal and some of crystal. You need to hold the end of the thread or chain with your index finger and thumb, holding it very steady so as not to influence the way it swings. Rest your elbow on a table to help keep it steady.

Generally you ask a question of the pendulum. Before using it you need to establish which way it swings for ‘yes’ and which way for ‘no’. For me clockwise is yes and anti-clockwise is no. But it could be that for you swinging backwards and forwards is no and in a circular movement is yes. When I was young mother in the days before ultrasound scans, we used a needle and thread to establish whether someone pregnant was having a girl or boy by holding it over her stomach. A boy might have the pendulum swing in a straight line and a girl in circular motion. Again you would need to find out how it works for you first.

 The means by which a psychic discerns and interprets information is often described by words such as clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, and clairgustance. Interestingly, four of these modes of interpretation mirror the five senses, although the information originates beyond natural seeing, hearing, touching/feeling and tasting/smelling.

• Clairvoyance – This is perhaps the most well known form of psychic ability. (Please note, when I use the term “psychic ability”, I’m using the phrase to describe a form of discernment and interpretation of information, and will use the word “intuition” for the same purpose.) The word clairvoyance is from the French language, and means, “clear seeing”. Many use this term as a catchword for the ability to see something beyond the five senses. ESP would fall under the realm of clairvoyance, as would the ability to locate lost objects via “seeing” its location. Clairvoyance arises from the third eye, also known as the Brow Chakra or 6th Chakra.

• Clairaudience – Clairaudience means, “clear hearing”, and indicates the ability to hear messages from the spirit world, including the dead, angels, guides, or God. Channeling and mediumship would fall under clairaudience if the messages were “heard” by an individual, as would hearing sounds relevant to a reading. For example, if a psychic “hears” a song in her head during a reading, it might be the favorite tune of the person she’s reading for or an individual who has passed on.

• Clairsentience – This form of discernment occurs through bodily sensations and feelings. When individuals speak of a “gut feeling”, hunch or “vibe”, they are likely using clairsentience. An intuitive reader may experience physical sensations correlating to the querent or someone they’re channeling from the Other Side. For example, a psychic experiences a sharp pain in the head, only to find out that he’s in contact with the spirit of a soldier shot in that location. Another example would be an intuitive reader who suddenly feels numb from the waist down, and the querent discloses that her Mother—who just passed on—was a quadriplegic.

• Clairgustance – Clairgustance is the ability to taste food without physically eating it, or smell a scent without using an olfactory organ. For example, if someone were to do a reading and smell roses or pipe smoke, this bit of information could be relevant to the question at hand. My father used to be a butcher and one day while cutting meat, he smelled roses (which is about as unlikely place to smell flowers as you can get!). He found out later that day that a family member passed away.

• Claircognizance – This is a direct knowing that is akin to having an information download. A person just “knows” something, without knowing how they know it. That is, knowledge not gleaned from a book, movie, web article or news story, and is usually quite out of the scope of the psychic’s normal information stream or experience. An example would be a psychic knowing specific dates or biographical information without “seeing” them in spirit—just an unusual knowing as if she had learned them from somewhere.

Pisces

Aries
This is an easy month for you. You feel on top of the world, in control, & in the driving seat of your life. It’s a nice feeling and one that will carry you through the Spring time. There are many ways of looking at life. Your view is a little more detailed than others, but this ability brings its rewards. I’m still not sure what you want from me? Just stories? You say we need to remember our history… but I’m not that old. Getting there though. Do you know that the life expectancy of an East End man is 54? I’m 50 so I suppose I’m ancient in the grand scale of the Glasgow underclass…

…My name is Eddie Reilly and I was born at Rottenrow Hospital. It isn’t there now. It was near the university though. They used to say that the university paid for the women’s bits when they had hysterectomies. Can you imagine that? And what exactly did they put those old, tired wombs in to get them across the road? A bucket? A Marks and Spencer’s carrier bag? Who would have done that job? And what would they have said if they had been stopped by the police for carrying a suspicious package? Sorry, I shouldn’t find it funny but it is just the way my brain works. I’ve always seen the slapstick comedy in any situation and, believe me, it has landed me in trouble many times!

My mother died giving birth to me. Complications, they said. I was born with a caul, you know? It’s like a bit of the birth sac sticking to your head like a wee shiny hat. It’s said that weans born with cauls are the psychic ones and have been here before. Don’t look so shocked! You never heard of that? Well, it’s true and I had a caul. I used to think it was me having the caul that killed my Ma. That was until I met Sharon. She was a lovely woman who moved into our tenement when I was seven. All the women up our close were excited because she could read the tea cups and tell you your fortune. She liked me and she was the one who told me that I didn’t kill my Ma.

I was only a wee thing, quite scrawny! I still am only five foot seven and a half. The half inch is important in Glasgow; it can make the difference between being called plain ‘Eddie’ and being forever known as the ‘Wee Man’.

I didn’t have a Da. Well, it wasn’t like the Immaculate Conception or anything like that. I was a mistake and my Ma never told anyone who my Da was. There was a rumour that he was the man who owned the fish and chip shop. He was Italian. I have a kind of Italian look, don’t you think? Like a kind of washed out Al Pacino? So I think I have some Italian blood in me. I always dreamed of going to Italy and seeing the sights. It always looks like somewhere I would enjoy living when I see it on the TV or in films. It’s odd when you feel a connection that’s as strong as that, isn’t it? Maybe I just lived there in some mad past life?
